Looking to dive deeper into topics that matter most to you? Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are vibrant, member-led sessions that bring together attendees who share common interests in epilepsy research and care. Whether you're part of a large group or a more intimate gathering, every SIG is designed to spark active participation, meaningful dialogue, and valuable networking. Come ready to share, learn, and connect with peers who are just as passionate as you are.

SIG Leadership: Driving Engagement and Collaboration

Our Special Interest Groups (SIGs) thrive thanks to the passion and commitment of our Chairs and Vice Chairs. These volunteer leaders curate impactful sessions at the AES Annual Meeting, foster ongoing knowledge exchange, and build strong connections within the SIG community.

How Leadership Works

Rotating Roles for Fresh Perspectives

Leadership rotates annually to keep ideas fresh and inclusive. Each Vice Chair transitions into the Chair role the following year, ensuring continuity and growth.

Member-Led Programming

The current Chair leads the charge in shaping the SIG’s annual meeting session—selecting timely topics, inviting expert speakers, and creating space for meaningful dialogue.
