A number of children (ages 2-18) who were admitted to our epilepsy monitoring unit were noted to have abnormalities on the videoEEG that were not significant enough to called epileptiform or to be treated with medication., A retrospective chart review was made of all children ages 2-18 admitted to the EMU at Beth israel from 2000-May 2006. Findings of EEG abnormalities were correlated with diagnoses of ADD, ADHD, speech-language delays and learning disabilities., Approximately 10% of the children admitted to the EMU were found to have abnormalities on their vide EEGs, most commonly focal spikes., Approximately 10% of children admitted to the EMU at Beth Israel, New York from 2000-2006 were dfound to have EEG abnormalities - there was a higher incidence in children with speech language delays, ADHD, ADD and LD.,
