Non-CME Speaker Policy
Non-CME Speaker Policy
Non-CME sessions restrict individuals with financial relationships with industry (or ineligible company) directly related to the session content from serving as Chair of the planning committee
AES staff will request disclosure from Chair as part of the proposal application and appropriately mitigate any relevant COI
ACCME definition of ineligible company: Companies whose primary business is producing, marketing, selling, re-selling, or distributing healthcare products used by or on patients.
Once the session proposal is reviewed and accepted, speakers must disclose all financial relationships with industry (ineligible company) to the Chair
Chair is responsible for reviewing and mitigating any conflicts directly related to the session content before planning begins
Chair is responsible for reviewing all non-CME slides in advance of the live presentation to ensure content is fair and balanced, and free of commercial bias
